Return to Work

Following an injury or long-term illness, meeting with an OT will help you focus your energy and efforts, to move you forward both physically and mentally, with the aim to help you regain control of your career.

  • OT input helps identify realistic timeframes to get you back to work, with advice tailored to your circumstances.

  • OT assessments identify your work readiness and review your normal work duties and demands, to enable a clear plan to follow, thus using your energy in the right places.

  • OT support can improve your experience of recovery, assisting with problem solving, task adaptation, postural habits and changes, as well as proactive communication techniques with your employer or your clients, to make sure you maintain strong relationships.

  • Occupational Therapy assists you to build your capacity for work tasks through postural strength, routine modifications and environmental controls.

OT services can also include:

  • Medical case conferences (GP or Specialist)

  • Workplace meetings

  • Ergonomic assessment and equipment recommendations

  • Review of your home office to ensure consistency in your work performance, across all work environments.
